MyAutoform, an immigration attorney, or on your own

Three ways to put a case together. This page says plainly what each one does — including what we do not do, and when hiring an attorney is the right call.

  • MyAutoform
  • An immigration attorney
  • On your own
  • Who fills the official USCIS forms — The platform, field by field, from the PDF the government itself publishes
  • Who writes the petition and cover letters — The platform drafts them from your answers; you review every line
  • Who judges whether your case has merit — Nobody — we do not do this
  • If USCIS sends an RFE — We do not answer RFEs today
  • Who signs — You
  • Who files with USCIS — You, with the filing checklist that comes in the package
  • Blank-field review before it goes out — Automatic, on the finished PDF, and it lists what is missing
  • The language you answer in — English, Portuguese or Spanish — the documents go out in English
  • What you pay, beyond the government fees — One payment per case, no subscription — the interview and the review are free

When an attorney is the right call

  • There is a criminal record, a removal proceeding, or a previous denial in your history.
  • You do not know whether you qualify — that is a judgment about merit, and it belongs to an attorney.
  • You already received an RFE, a NOID or a denial and need it answered.
  • You are out of status, or a deadline has already passed.

What we are not

MyAutoform is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. We prepare documents from the answers you give; legal judgment belongs to a licensed immigration attorney, and every package's filing checklist starts by telling you to have one review it.
